***** (5 stars) - On the web just finishing up a large project for a pal’s wedding. I am doing 25-four sided luminaries with a lid. Each one box takes 5 various sheets of pieces of paper with each of the 5 sides having identical, intricate lace structure (made from the "card lace center" by Silhouette online store) It has taken my family 3 blades to make it through the first 8, although only 1 for the last teen. I used Leisure activity lobby textured papers (I do not propose this paper)finially choosing speed 1, degree 6.
Things My partner and i learned about the knives....

slower is better to get intricate patterns
the content blades (which often the silhouette website states that are the same blade, diff. color so you can work with one with pieces of paper, one with fabric) are much better becuase the very tip with the white cap changes off to as a way to remove paper dust. This is a much needed modification to the blade. The moment I started using one of these blades instead of the black color blades, they be preserved longer because the blade passes better from absence of paper, PLUS you actually dont damage often the blade trying to cleanse the paper having a straight pin as well as damage the ratchet system by folding off the black limitation as seen with several you water line videos. I am looking forward into the time when the traditional style black blade investment is used up along with the new style is rather common.

I love my very own silhouette. sometimes it is challenging figure out exactly what incisor depth and acceleration are best for each type connected with media/paper. it is always recommended to use a test lower, and when all else doesn't work, use a sslllooooowwww chopping speed. the first few cardboard boxes I made with frequent cardstock and Bazzil basics were simple cut and I are able to use a faster acceleration. But price in addition to "the perfect color" had me obtain 100+sheets of the Hobbylobby textured cardstock. considerably drama ensued, although I finially fiured it out.

Cricket matts seem to wear out often the blades faster and work with "print in addition to cut projects" (the black lines for the mat seem to wreck havoc on the optical sensor), but they are less gross and if you have a important project with numerous repetitive cuts in this way, it is kind of wonderful to use a cheaper sparring floor. - Margaret K.
